Originally there were three of them, until one Son took himself off to the north of the country to write an enchanting piece of work. A piece of work that is now his debut, self titled album. The Son(s), preferring to remain anonymous in identity, writes lyrics which bear themselves as naked and vulnerable, only covering themselves up in a dreamy recording. The beauty of the vocals, seemingly music on their own accord, are accompanied with fluttering drum roles, cloud skipping, finger picked guitar and harmonies that create a completely new atmospheric layer to the already mesmerizing tune. Before drifting away with the fairies, I must stress that this album is not another dream pop mash up. Having been compared to Grizzly Bear and Iron and Wine, it is an extremely intimate album, with a twist of folk. With the single Radar released not so long ago, The Son(s) haven’t left you waiting too long for the album will be available for you to experience in early March.

i love the son[s] it’s very rounded music, building a groundswell of listeners quietly with no awful hype .
